How 120 dogs live well.

Always with the pack
Sled dogs never stay alone — they train, play and rest together, with us around most of the day.

A house of their own
Every dog has an insulated house — straw beds in winter, cool gravel in summer, cleaned every single morning.

Fed like athletes
Quality raw and dry food plus our own production, checked by a nutrition specialist. Leif Tore serves every evening meal himself.

Play days
Big free-running areas at the kennel — and trips to a 7 000 m² dog park where 60 dogs run loose together.
The racing dogs
Our racing team has its own training and resting plan — they join the 30 km tours as part of it.
When they get older
Around age eight our dogs retire to sofas and easy ski trips as family dogs. Interested in adopting one? Ask us — you'll be invited for a visit.
Breeding
For our own use only — we look at pack behaviour, joy of pulling, technique and health. Never colour.

TEAM SJUSJØEN HUSKY

Yes — we race.

Leif Tore Lie, Jørgine Massa Vasstrand, Sebastian Plur Nilssen and Morten Sundli race Gausdal Maraton, Femundløpet and Finnmarksløpet. Jørgine completed the 450 km Femund race in 2024 — at minus forty.

Racing keeps our focus on nutrition, training and breeding sharp. Tours run as normal all winter — and on a 30 km you may well have racing dogs in your team.

WHO WE ARE

Leif Tore, Ida — and a few more.

Sjusjøen Husky Tours started in 2014. Leif Tore got his first sled dog eighteen years ago and has raced ever since. Ida runs the bookings and welcomes you up on the mountain — she's the one answering your emails.

Britta and Bjarne from Germany are on their fourth season with the dogs.
