SJUSJØEN HUSKY TOURS
WHO WE ARE

The people behind the dogs.

Sjusjøen Husky Tours started in 2014 with Leif Tore, Ida and a handful of dogs. Today it is 120 huskies and a lavvu with room for a hundred guests — and still the same two people answering your emails and harnessing your team.

FOUNDER & HEAD MUSHER

Leif Tore Lie.

From Øyer, just below Hafjell. Industrial mechanic by trade, dog man by calling — he got his first Alaskan Malamute nearly twenty years ago and never looked back. There was even a documentary about him and the dogs back in 2015.

Today he trains the racing team, plans every trail — and serves the dogs their evening meal himself, every day of the year.

CO-FOUNDER & EVERYTHING ELSE

Ida Nilseng.

From Lillehammer, with a business degree and a background in tourism marketing. Ida runs the bookings, answers your emails — and is the one welcoming you up on the mountain.

At home: a golden retriever and two Icelandic horses. On the mountain: a hundred guests at a time, each made to feel like the only one.

THE HANDLERS

Britta & Bjarne — fourth season.

Britta and Bjarne came from Germany and a life in forestry, and are now on their fourth season with the dogs — feeding, training, harnessing and cuddling in all weathers.
