HOW TO FIND US
Getting here, the right way.
Our winter tours start from Finnolkoia — a forest cabin between Mesnali and Sjusjøen, about two hours from Oslo. Some roads up here are closed all winter, and navigation apps don’t always know it. Read this before you drive — it saves you from a very cold detour.

FROM OSLO / THE SOUTH
Take the Rudshøgda exit — not Brumunddal.
Most navigators will tell you to leave the E6 at Brumunddal. Don’t — that route includes a forest road that is closed all winter. Stay on the E6 a little longer and exit at Rudshøgda instead.
The route
Exit the E6 at Rudshøgda and follow the signs for Sjusjøen, passing Næroset, Åsmarka and Mesnali.
After Mesnali
Continue about 3 km towards Sjusjøen until you see signs for Sjusjøen Skisenter, Sjusjøen Hytteutleie and Sjusjøen Café — turn right there. The last 6 km are signposted for Sjusjøen Husky Tours, and from this point your GPS works fine too.
Why not the shortest route?
The “shortest” road from the south is closed in winter. We mark it as closed in Google and Apple Maps, but plenty of cars still end up there every season. When in doubt: Rudshøgda.
FROM LILLEHAMMER & THE NORTH
Lillehammer, Hafjell and the mountains.
From Lillehammer
Find Sjusjøvegen and follow the signs for Sjusjøen. Some navigators suggest going via Nordseter — the main road past Mesnali is the better choice. From Mesnali, continue as described above.
From Hafjell / the north
Drive the easiest way to Lillehammer first, then follow the directions above. Careful if you’re staying up in the mountains: several roads between the mountain villages are only open in summer.
WITHOUT A CAR
By train and bus.
You can reach us by public transport — easiest on winter weekends — if you’re happy to walk the last 3 km from Sjusjøen Skisenter.
From Oslo — weekends from mid-December
Take an early train from Oslo S to Moelv (around 07:30), then the bus from Moelv station towards Sjusjøen. Get off at Sjusjøen Skisenter and walk the last 3 km — you’ll comfortably make the 11:00 tour. A bus returns to Moelv in the afternoon.
From Lillehammer
On weekends, route 501 towards Sjusjøen stops at Sjusjøen Skisenter. On weekdays, book the 12:30 tour and take the morning bus from Lillehammer — it reaches the ski centre on its way back down, so stay on to the last stop and ride it back to the ski centre.
